WHAT IS THE OAK CITY CLASSIC
The Oak City Classic @ Raleighwood (OCCR) is the nation’s first soccer mini-golf bar crawl, featuring four of Downtown Raleigh’s classiest establishments in London Bridge Pub, Isaac Hunter's Tavern, Boxcar Bar + Arcade, and Coglin's. All proceeds of the tournament go to Oak City Soccer, a local Triangle charity that specializes in helping kids with sensory processing challenges and autism.
The OCCR will be a 9-hole course, consisting of two one-of-a-kind holes at each bar, and a grand finale mystery hole at London Bridge Pub. The OCCR course is designed for players ages 21+ and will be fun for someone striking their first soccer ball, through to even the most “advanced” individuals.
Holes will be played by foot putting with a size 1 mini soccer ball, and will be struck (hopefully) in the direction of a 12” hole. The holes will require you to step onto the tee box and foot putt down a plush, spacious fairway navigating unique obstacles.
The OCCR is formatted to be a team competition that will require contributions from all players on every hole. Teams will be comprised of 4 players. We don't require collared shirts, but we hope (and fully expect) all foursomes to put their brains together to uniquely style their wardrobe and set themselves apart from the competition.
Based on promotion/relegation, The OCCR is comprised of three divisions:
18-24 teams compete; 4 members per team
9-hole course across our designated bar crawl route
Each location has two holes, with London Bridge Pub having the grand finale mystery 9th hole
Your team's initial division placement is based on total amount of team buy-in
Only the top third of buy-ins get in the Pro Division, then next best buy-ins go to Developmental, the rest in Recreational. There are no guarantees, so buy-in ASAP
Suggested donations for each division:
Teams may purchase up to 5 mulligans before the event
Mulligans will cost $15 each
Teams can use these mulligans on holes 1-8 any way they see fit
Day of event: July 16th, 2017
Check-in and gift bag pick-up from 12:00 noon - 12:45 P.M. at London Bridge Pub
Welcome speech at 12:47 P.M.

General tee off at 1:00 P.M.
Estimated end time at 6:00 P.M.

At the start of each hole, each person gets a free shot to test the hole layout. Make the first shot, you get a 0 and move on
If you miss your first shot, you try again with the scoring from then on going like this:
Make = 1 stroke
Miss = 2 strokes
Out-of-bounds = 3 strokes
Team scores will be kept at each bar. This overall team score for a bar will be the score used to determine promotion/relegation
Every player on your team will play each hole
Mystery Hole #9
Scoring system will be revealed at the final hole
After every location, your team's overall stroke tally resets:
The team with the least amount of strokes taken in the bottom two divisions get promoted
The team with the most amount of strokes taken in the top two divisions get relegated
No teams can drop out of the competition altogether due to being last in the Recreational Division - it's just super embarrassing to be last, y'all
Each division will crown a winner with the overall winner for The OCCR being the Professional Division winner
Team donation amount
Rock, Paper, Scissors (best 2 out of 3)
All non-playing people are considered caddies for the event = $10 suggested donation
Everyone must be 21+ and will all be ID’d upon entrance to London Bridge Pub
Each person (players, caddies or spectators) will receive a wristband that will allow them to access the venue's drink specials
Anyone can attempt to play the final mystery hole with an additional charitable donation
